About
The Starting Player is a developing nonprofit dedicated to spreading joy and fostering community through playing board games. I do this by hosting gaming events; curating games for individuals and groups; teaching games; and helping build game libraries. My aim is to provide opportunities to those who could benefit from building social and intellectual connections through play while making a positive impact in the local community. I believe in the inherent power of gameplay to help people become better thinkers, better communicators, and make better connections, all through play.
Play is the brain's favorite way of learning.
